Some Highlights

Dickinson Days  the first weekend of June features this celebration of the Dickinsons who founded and provided the impetus for the development of Manotick.  This weekend is celebrated by all of Manotick so do come for the festivities and visit the Dickinson House.

The Coral Lindsay Exhibit Hall on the third floor of the house will feature a special exhibit entitled“ Getting It Done - Heritage Tools for Everyday Use”.

And more to come.

The Dickinson House Summer Seasons

Each summer the Rideau Township Historical Society offers heritage programming in and around the Dickinson House in Manotick.  The activities planned for the 2019 program will reflect the period when the families of the millers were in residence, - the Dickinsons, the Spratts, and the Watsons.

This year the Dickinson House will be open from May 18 to September 2. Hours for guided tours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until September 2.

From September 3 until December 8 hours will be open weekends & holidays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Special tours will be available outside these hours, upon request. On the weekends and holidays,  there will be a number of special exhibits, as described below.

See on the right some of the activities, displays, and demonstrations that are being planned for this summer.

The Dickinson House

The Dickinson House has been opened to the public each summer season since 2008 by the Rideau Township Historical Society.  We're doing it again this summer.

Plan on coming more than once. We have new exhibits, demonstrations, and concerts as the summer progresses so it is definitely worth more than one visit.
